I have a 2 hp dust collector in another room but I don't want to run hoses across the floor or ceiling as the saw is several feet from any wall.

I could fit a "shop vac" under my saw table outfeed system. It would be nice turn on one switch to control both the saw and the "shop vac" but the saw is and I have not heard of "shop vacs". Any suggestions on what "shop vac" I should be looking at and any other thoughts would be apprciated.

"Shop vac"" for a table saw

I have the system installed and it works great. I'll leave it up to others, more knowledgeable than myself, to let you know whether they think a shop vac is adequate for your needs I have my doubts. For conventional saws like contractors saw or cabinet saws I haven't seen any shop vacs capable of moving enough volume of air to be very effective when it comes to fine dust. There are table saws that are better designed for dust collection than others. But if you are looking for actual 'dust' collection rather than chip removal, then you will need something far more powerful than what you have with either the shopvac or 2hp DC unit.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. The actual dimensions of the large end are 2.

I was very nervous ordering this part since the adapters at Lowes didn't fit and I wasn't sure the right adapter existed, but this does the job and I'm very pleased. I have spent ten bucks here and twenty bucks there looking for the right adapter for my shop vac and nothing ever fit. All I was looking for was an adapter to the shop vac hose to miter saw, table saws, router table etc.

This is finally the one that fit? Local hardware stores did not have this product, or anything even close. This product works perfectly on my Bosch router table and my Ridgid table saw. Fast shipping too even though it didn't ship Prime. Rockler is a good company to deal with. Despite some of the negative reviews I read, I bought it anyway and it fit my Bosch router table perfecty. I shoved it in, even gave it a twist to see if it had any play.

It fit snug on both the table and the ShopVac hose. I don't know why this particular adapter is so much more expensive than other sizes,. May be lower call for these two particular sizes, but it works after adding a layer of masking tape to the larger dimension. Different manufacturers, different sizes. Works great for me, but didn't fit well on my Ridgid shop vacuum hose. What I ended up doing is plugging it into the Brush attachment as the fit was excellent. Well made Size mentioned is actual inside dimensions. As it should be in my opinion. Measure inside diameter as well as outside dia.

When going to supply store ask are the measurements stated inside or outside.

This is the third adapter I've tried, and I'm ordering more of them. Only one I've found that fits the router table exhaust port, desktop belt sander exhaust port, and of course the ShopVac. The fit is not overly snug but that is a quick fix with some duct tape.
